The proof
Below is information on two homes in Lombard, side by side, one belonging to the Village of Lombard's Community Development Director, the other, a similar house, just a few blocks away, built and sold around the same time. The information is taken from Lombard building permits, property transfers records and York Township Assessor's Office records. Did somebody get an "insider's deal"? Take a look, and decide for yourself.

A $105,691 difference in price. WOW. And that's not including the $20,000 price difference in the purchase price of the property before the new homes were built. And it looks like the less expensive house is larger, has a larger deck, a walkout basement, a third floor, an attached garage, is closer to the train station, has 6800 sq. ft. more land and a lower tax assessment. It also appears that Hulseberg's home may not be properly listed with the Assessor's office. I’d say Hulseberg got a FANTASTIC deal.

Maybe there's a reasonable explanation for the huge price difference, and the discrepancies with the Assessor's office are just clerical errors. I don't really know, but I believe there are some questions that need to be addressed by Hulseberg and the Village of Lombard. The Village also needs to address why Paul Grimes, in violation of Illinois and Lombard laws, was allowed to illegally design so many homes in Lombard.

Everything seem on the level
